Overview of the Projects
Our project has two target populations: the students AND the teachers. We believe it is extremely important that teachers are competent to instruct their students in a way that will lead to maximal success. On this site, you will find information about our current research projects Professional and Parental Understanding for Equity in Dual Language Education (PUEDE) and Leveraging the Lectura y Lenguaje [Literacy & Language]: A Collaborative Scale Up of Literacy and Language for ELs in Central Indiana, both of which are funded through the U.S. Department of Education.
What Inspires Us
Through our projects, current elementary teachers will be trained in literacy and English language learning, in addition to the current K-12 teachers who will become more knowledgeable about bilingual education programs. With our community partners, we aim to identify and describe the needs of English learning families in specific districts within the state of Indiana.
